Educational materials on overdose prevention and naloxone use are available from the Injury and Violence Prevention Branch at the NC Division of Public Health. The toolkit includes existing resources from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the US Food and Drug Administration, Pfizer, the Carolinas Poison Center, Community Care of North Carolina (CCNC), and other state health departments. Materials also include a collection of brochures, flyers, and handcards developed by IVPB. Local health departments and others addressing opioid overdose and safer medication use can customize resources with contact information and naloxone availability; details about upcoming events, including drug take-backs; and information about other local agencies or organizations involved in public health and social service promotion. The toolkit provides sample promotional language, slogans and taglines, marketing ideas, and a slide deck on prescription drug overdose prevention.
